What a difference a week makes.

Schreiner University’s women’s basketball team blasted visiting Austin College on Saturday night, 92-68. It was the most impressive win of the season for the Mountaineers, who lost to Austin last week.

The 92 points were the most the Mountaineers have scored this season. The Mountaineers shot 45.7% from the field, 41% from 3-point range and 81% from the free-throw line. Four Schreiner players scored in double figures, including Mirando Vallejo’s season-best performance of 15 points coming off the bench.

Josline Hernandez scored a team-high 17 points, including hitting five 3-pointers.

For the Mountaineers, the win improved their Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference record to 8-4 and keeps them locked in at third place.

Demauria Miles had 12 points for Schreiner.

Rodneyisha McMillan had nine points.

Miranda Vallejo scored 15 points for the Mountaineers.
